Baptism

At Holy Trinity, Micklegate, we encourage parents to bring their children for baptism.

In doing so Holy Trinity, Micklegate, shares in the joy of parents and families at the birth of a new child, offers its support to parents in the great task given them, and also acts as a channel through which a loved child is brought into the family of the Church.

Increasingly today many older people are also asking to be baptised. Never having been baptised as infants, they wish to state their intention as adults to follow Jesus. Baptism is a sign and seal of that decision. Often families, both parents and children, are baptised together.

If you wish to talk about baptism, either for your child of yourself, then please contact the clergy of the church, who will be happy to give you further information, help and advice. Contact us on info@holytrinityyork.org or by using the details at the bottom of this page.
