Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (26th February) and lasts for about six weeks until Easter. There are many services and events during Lent where we reflect on Jesus and his journey to the cross. We look forward to having you with us as you journey through Lent.
Ash Wednesday - 26th February
Services with the Imposition of Ashes:
- Holy Communion at 12.15pm
- Sung Eucharist with choir at 7.00pm
From the beginning of Lent for the remainder of 2020 we will run a Pilgrim course every six weeks. The first of these will focus on The Lord’s Prayer. Pilgrim is a teaching and discipleship resource from the Church of England. It is designed for small groups and is made up of two parts: Follow and Grow. If you are interested, join us in church at 7.00pm on the following dates for The Lord’s Prayer:

Mothering Sunday - 22nd March at 11.00am
Sung Eucharist with thanksgiving followed by refreshments.
Palm Sunday - 5th April at 10.45am
Sung Eucharist with the choir. The service begins at 10.45 with a procession from Micklegate Bar to the church. Refreshments available after the service.
Maundy Thursday - 9th April at 7.00pm
Sung Eucharist with the choir and stripping of the altar. Followed by meditation and the watch at the Easter garden in the St Nicholas Chapel.
Good Friday - 10th April at 11.00am
A devotional service wtih choir. Followed by meditation at the Easter garden in the St Nicholas Chapel.
Easter Day - 12th April at 11.00am
Sung Eucharist with the choir to celebrate Easter Day (President and Preacher: The Bishop of Beverley). Refreshments available aferwards
